Frequently Asked Question
Why Is My Air Conditioner Not Blowing Cold Air?
Ensure the thermostat’s not switched to “AUTO” instead of “ON”
Change or wash the filter.
Check your fuse box to see if any fuses have been blown or tripped. If the fuses look good, locate the switch connected to your central A/C and switch it on and off to reset the connection.
Why is my energy bill so high?
As air conditioners get older, they become less energy efficient. If your costs are rising, it could be a sign that your air conditioner is wearing out.
Why is my air conditioner freezing up?
Thermostat– If your thermostat is set below 70 degrees it could be causing your air conditioner to freeze up — and it’s actually not cooling your home any faster.
Refrigerant level- If your refrigerant level is low, this could signal a larger issue
Air filter- A clogged, dirty air filter could be causing the issue.
Vents- Make sure all vents are open to ensure air flow
Why is my air conditioner leaking condensation?
A clogged condensate line
A rusty condensate pan
A dirty or frozen evaporator coil
A low refrigerant level
Dirty air filter
Why Is My Heater So Noisy?
Heaters can make many strange noises that indicate a repair is needed. Hissing or screeching can indicate a motor problem while banging or popping noises can be tied to issues with the furnace combustor. A scraping sound coming from the heater can result from a problem with your heater’s blower wheel, the part that aids in ventilation and dehumidifying.
Why Does My Heater Smell Like It's Burning?
During the warmer months, dust collects in your heater. When you turn on your furnace for the first time in a while, it’s normal for it to smell while the dust burns off the heating components. If the smell lasts longer than several minutes, or you see smoke, turn off the heater right away, and contact us so one of our technicians can take a look.
